Statue of Saint Peter
Another interesting element of the crusade era, conserved to the right of the museum entrance, is a stone statue of Saint Peter.
Although now missing the head and legs, the typical iconographic features of the Saint can still be recognised, dressed with pallium and supporting the Church, represented by a beautiful building.
To complete the reference to the prince of the apostles are the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, which he holds in his hand. It is thought that this sculpture may belong to the decoration of the entrance door of the crusade basilica.
